Who we are

This policy explains how Besa Social Limited ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit besasocial.com, work with us, or apply to our creator list.

Besa Social Limited is a New Zealand company (NZBN 9429048176422), with its registered office at 19d Blake Street, Ponsonby, Auckland 1011. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply to our work in Australia.

What we collect

We only collect what we need, and mostly directly from you.

Enquiries and clients: your name, email, phone number, business details and anything you share with us about your project.
Creator applications: your name, email, social media handles, follower range, niche, city, the screen recording of your account insights, and any media kit or details you choose to send.
Newsletter: your name and email address.
Website visits: basic technical information such as your browser, device and pages viewed, collected through cookies (see Cookies below).

How we use it

To respond to enquiries and deliver our services to clients.
To review creator applications and match creators with suitable brand campaigns.
To send our newsletter and updates, where you have agreed to receive them.
To run, improve and secure our website.
To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We will not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

Brand partners: if you apply to our creator list, we may recommend you to clients for a campaign by sharing your name and public social handles. Your screen recording and insights are used only by us to review your application, and are never shared with clients.
Service providers: trusted tools that help us run the business, such as our website and form provider (Wix), email and storage services. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
Legal reasons: if we are required to by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Newsletter and marketing emails

We only send marketing emails, including our newsletter, to people who have agreed to receive them, for example by ticking the consent box on one of our forms.

Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us to opt out at any time, and we will remove you from our list promptly.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and limit access to the people who need it.

Some of our service providers, including Wix, store data on servers outside New Zealand, such as in the United States. When we use these providers, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected to a standard comparable to New Zealand privacy law.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Creator applications stay on our list while it is active, and you can ask us to remove yours at any time. Client records are kept for as long as the law requires for business and tax purposes.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Just email us and we will respond within 20 working days.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand, or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in Australia.

Our website uses cookies to make it work properly and to understand how visitors use it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well.
